Knowing the Coat on the Caucasian Shepherd or Caucasian Dog

The double-layered, thick coat of the Caucasian shepherd can make grooming a challenging task. This breed’s fur is specifically designed to protect them from the cold temperatures of the mountains they originate from.

To prevent matting, it is recommended to brush your Caucasian Dog at least three to four times a week. Regular grooming is essential, especially during shedding seasons in spring and autumn.

While bathing these large dogs is not necessary and can potentially remove natural oils from their coat, it is crucial to keep their fur clean and dirt-free. This practice helps prevent skin infections and promotes their overall health.
